Meet the Veterinarians
Dr.Laurel Bjornson, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Bjornson is from Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Her goal from the age of 3 was to be a veterinarian. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and received a B.S. in General Agriculture, and graduated from the University of Missouri – College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She practiced mixed practice in central Missouri for nine years before moving to her husband’s fourth-generation family farm near Oslo, MN, in 1999. Dr. Bjornson enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine and obtained certification in Animal Chiropractic Basics from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in 2000 and has nearly completed advanced certification.
Dr. Loren Heusel, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Loren Heusel grew up in north central Illinois. He is joining the Broadway Veterinary Hospital team after 8 years of mixed animal practice most recently in southeastern Minnesota and previously in north central Wisconsin. Dr. Loren graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Veterinary School in 2015. As part of his education during veterinary school, he focused on areas of internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, and dentistry. He focused a lot of his extra time on veterinary studies in school on large (production) animals. Dr. Loren looks forward to continuing his veterinary role in Rochester as well as the rest of southeastern Minnesota communities. When not working at Broadway Veterinary Hospital, he spends most of his time with his wife (Kaitlin), sons Mason (4) and Lucas (2), two dogs, two cats, as well as multiple cows, pigs, horses, and chickens on his small farm outside of Lake City.
Dr.Theresa Hunt, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Hunt was raised in east central Minnesota. At an early age, her parents encouraged her to combine her love of animals with her interest in medicine. She attended the College of St. Benedict and received a B.S. in natural science with an emphasis on secondary education. In 1994 she received a DVM degree from the University of Minnesota. Professionally, Dr. Hunt is most interested in dermatology, endocrine disease management, and behavior medicine.

Suzie E. Practice Manager
Practice Manager
Suzie has been a Practice Manager since 2011 and has over 23 years of experience in the Veterinary field, including being a Veterinary Technician. She received her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Winona State University in 2005. She is also accredited for the Meyers Briggs personality assessment and is passionate about growing a thriving veterinary team! She is married and has two children. Suzie likes to spend time with her family and friends camping and volunteering for 4H. She has a menagerie of goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits—OH MY! She has a few dogs and cats that love to go camping.
Cailea M. VT
Veterinary Technician
Cailea has been working as a Veterinary Technician since 2006. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine. She has a silly Bulldog (Olga), a handsome Red Lab (Hank), and a very sweet Springer Spaniel (Gus). Cailea has many cats on her farm, along with cattle and chickens. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and numerous pets.
Terri L. VT
Veterinary Technician
Terri graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, CO, in 1974. After graduation, she worked in one of the first Animal Emergency Hospitals in Denver for two years as well as two private practices. She has loved animals all of her life. In past years she has been involved in Therapy Dog work with Milo and Agility trials with both Milo and KayCee. Terri now has two beautiful Old World German Shepherds (Annie Oakley & Doc Holiday) and a Basset Hound puppy (Jack), along with six rescue kitties (Charlie, Judy, Skipper, Sherlock, Moe & Elvis) ranging from 1-year old to 20 years old. Outside of work, she enjoys anything outdoors with her dogs.
Krista J. Receptionist
Receptionist
Krista Joined Broadway veterinary Hospital in Nov of 2023 as a Customer Service Representative. Her favorite thing about being a CSR is getting to see all the happy pets coming in the door. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children and helping out on the farm. She enjoys four wheeling horseback riding and sitting by the camp fire. She has a few dogs and cats of her own as well as a pair of leopard geckos.
